Contracted (2013) Preview Trailer & Review

Horror/Thriller – Directed by Eric England (Madison County 2011). Starring unknowns for me Najarra Townsend as female lead. Was pleasantly surprised by this short thriller, Samantha (Najarra Townsend) plays a confused, lonely, recovering addict obviously unhappy with what life has dealt her.  Recently separated from her fledgling gay romance with Niki, Sam attends a party thrown by her outspoken friend Alice…here Sam makes loads of bad decisions…ie doesn’t want to drink…does, shouldn’t call her uninterested ex Niki…does…and while continually receiving creepy looks from unknown party goer ‘BJ …accepts a drink.

Poor, drunk Sam ends up getting a ride from creepy BJ and having a regrettable one night stand.  Day 1  and the movie’s horror kicks in, following Sam’s health degeneration…and plays on what girls freak about the most, a possible STD, accompanied with extreme girly symptoms.

During the next wee while you watch poor Sam experiencing extremely stressful physical, and cringe worthy side effects leading to emotional and violent outbursts.

This movie has a great ending and a big Ah-Haa moment.  I really enjoyed watching how the film portrays Sam spiraling into desperation and despair, and for a budget movie the gore factor is realistic and impressive.

This horror/thriller is worth watching.
