Get access to more horror movies from overseas streaming services by circumventing geoblocks

If you live outside of the United States and the United Kingdom, you can’t get access to paid video streaming services such as Netflix because those sites know you are accessing from overseas.  Likewise, if you live outside of the United Kingdom, you can’t get access to streaming services such as the BBC iPlayer with its great free video library including horror movies.

DNS Unblock streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, BBC iPlayer and more

It is surprisingly simple and affordable to circumvent the geoblocks put in place by streaming services that seek to prevent overseas viewers (like  you) from accessing their great video libraries.

The best are third party DNS spoofers that trick streaming sites that you are accessing their site from their country (whilst leaving other non-streaming sites you visit unaffected).  You can test this trick for free using a free trial of the DNS unblocking service provided by Unlocator and afterwards signing up to the free trials provided by Netflix and Hulu Plus or by accessing free streaming sites such as BBC iPlayer, Channel 4, NBC and more.  Just click here to try it out and follow the instructions for your device or router (iPads/iPhones, Android, Windows PCs, Blu-ray players, Smart TVs and more).

Try it out and you’ll have access to huge online libraries of horror movies and televisions series.

If you’re from Australia and you’re wondering if this trick is illegal, take comfort from the Federal Minister for Communications, Malcolm Turnbull, who says its not illegal:

Q: Many Australians use a VPN to access Netflix in the US. Is it illegal for me to use a VPN to access Netflix?

  • The Copyright Act does not make it illegal to use a VPN to access overseas content.
  • While content providers often have in place international commercial arrangements to protect copyright in different countries or regions, which can result in ‘geoblocking’, circumventing this is not illegal under the Copyright Act.”

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

Unlike the DNS trick used by Unlocator, another trick is to use Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to encrypt and tunnel all your of your internet traffic through a network located in another country which also tricks streaming services such as Netflix that you are located in that country.

The disadvantage of VPNs is that they  can slow down all of your internet access by diverting your traffic through a server in the another country. Another disadvantage is VPNs won’t work on devices such as Smart TVs and Blu-ray players.

The advantage of VPNs is that it hides and encrypts your traffic which might be important to you given how governments around the world are now moving to track and record everything you do online.

Which one is right for me?

The DNS providers have the simplest and fastest service.

Still can’t decide whether to choose DNS or VPN? Why not try a combined package that gives you both tricks from the one provider and switch between the two at Overplay.net?
